  • Stewart Robb - our Founder and Managing Director - designs, develops and proves concept with a prototype machine.
  • 1990
  • First patent applied for.
  • First threaded connection successfully machined at the RGIT Aberdeen.
  • 1991
  • In-Situ Oilfield Services Ltd is incorporated.
  • 1991 - 1993
  • In-Situ begins commercial thread cutting operations with prototype machine producing API rotary/propriatory double shoulder connections.
  • 1994
  • First Containerised Series 500 (Ø20”) machine designed and manufactured for In-Situ’s Aberdeen thread cutting operation.
  • 1995
  • First Containerised Series 500 (Ø20”) machine sold to operation in Western desert, Egypt, producing API rotary/casing connections up to Ø20”.
  • 1996
  • First Containerised Series 500 machine built for two year rental contract in Vietnam producing API rotary/casing connections up to Ø20”.
  • 1997
  • First workshop based Series 500 machine built for rental in Aberdeen API approved machine shop producing API rotary and premium rotary DSTJ connections. Rental period lasts 7 years.
  • 1998
  • Workshop based Series 500 machine sold to an Norwegian operation to cut premium casing up to Ø13-3/8” (NK3SB & NSCC) and buttress casing up to Ø20”.
  • First Series 1200 machine designed, manufactured and sold to operation in Lafayette, USA to produce flush joint pin and box conductor threads on Ø36” pipes, up to 50ft long.
  • Workshop based Series 500 machine built for rental operation in Venezuela to cut 2000 lengths of Ø20” casing with big Omega thread form.
  • 1999
  • 1 off Series 500 machine built for rental for desert operation in Algeria to produce API rotary and large diameter API casing (Ø20”).
  • 2000
  • Containerised Series 500 machine sold to operation in Saudi Arabia to produce API rotary and casing up to Ø20”.
  • 2001
  • 2 off Series 2000 workshop machines sold to operation in Houston USA to produce API casing and premium casing.
  • 1 off Series 2000 containerised machine sold to operation in Saudi Arabia to produce API casing and premium casing.
  • 2002
  • 2 off Series 2000 containerised machines sold to operation in Saudi Arabia to produce API / premium casing.
  • 2003
  • 1 off Series 2000 containerised machine built for In-Situ's operation in Aberdeen.
  • 2004
  • A 2nd Series 1200 machine built for existing US customer, capacity increased to Ø48”.
  • 2005
  • 2 off Series 2000 High production machines sold to operation in China.
  • 2006
  • After 4 years working on-site in Aberdeen, In-Situ agrees to sell complete machining operation including 4 machines and API & NKK licenses.
  • A further 2 off Series 2000 High production machines sold to different customer in China.
  • 1 off Series 2000 containerised machine sold to existing customer in Saudi Arabia, bringing total In-Situ machines to 4.
  • 1 off Series 2000 containerised machine sold to Aberdeen operation.
  • 2007
  • 3 off Series 2000 containerised machines sold to various customers based in France, Saudi Arabia and Norway.
  • 2009
  • 1 off Series 2000 workshop machine sold to existing Norwegian customer.
  • 2 off Series 2000 workshop machines with patented "Pendleslide auto-alignment" sold to operation in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  • 2010
  • 2 off series 2000 containerised machines built for revenue share operations in Northern Norway and Alexandria, Egypt.
  • 2011
  • 1 off Series 1200 extreme heavy duty machine to cover Ø48” sold to operation in Holland.
  • 2012
  • 1 off Series 1200 extreme heavy duty machine sold to existing multi-national company on Batam Island, Indonesia.
  • 1 off Series 2000 harsh environment containerised machine sold to Russian customer for operations in temperatures to -40°.
  • 2013
  • 1 off Series ML machine sold to multi-national company in Aberdeen including all latest technical developments.
  • 2014
  • 1 off Series 1200 extreme heavy duty machine sold to existing multi-national company in Texas, USA.
  • 2015 - 2016
  • 1 off Series 1200 extreme heavy duty machine sold to existing multi-national company in Texas, USA.
  • 1 off Series 2000 machine sold with toolchanger and integrated cantilever handling system to multi-national company in Aberdeen.
  • 1 off Cantilever drillpipe handling system (Loading Station) sold to suit rotating pipe lathe machine.
  • 2 off Series ML machines sold to UK based multi-national company for Holland & South Africa.
  • 1 off Series ML machine sold to Saudi Arabian multi-national pipe supplier.
  • 1 off Series ML machine sold to world leading French multi-national pipe supplier.
